Infused Water

According to WebMD, each person should drink an average of eight 8-ounce glasses of water a day. Of course the amount of water consumption changes based on your weight and activity level, but 64 ounces of water a day is a good starting point. Now, if you're like me, drinking straight plain water is not the most exciting thing. Luckily, there are alternatives or things you can add to water to make it taste a little better and make drinking 64 ounces of water a day more enjoyable. Fruit infused water not only tastes better than plain water, but it also has other great benefits. Infused water can improve your mood, reduce muscle fatigue when working out, and make you feel fuller so you do not eat as much junk food. Infused water is a great and healthy alternative to drinking plain water. For more information, other benefits, and some delicious recipes check out the link posted below.

  1. Hi Nicole! I totally agree with you on fruit infused water! I think it makes water a lot more enjoyable especially because I love fruit. My favorite fruit to put in my water is strawberries, but I also love putting cucumbers in too. It makes the water taste a lot fresher. I'm not so sure I get 8 ounces of water a day but I do try to drink atleast a glass or 2 a day.

  2. As athletes its important to stay hydrated. I agree that straight water can get boring through out the day. I use the MIO water flavoring which is really good. Regardless water and hydration is important for all. Stay hydrated!

  3. I am a big drinker a fruit-infused water, especially in the summer when I'm trying to stay hydrated and keep a healthy diet! I actually went for so long drinking fruit infused water before that plain water started to taste gross to me. I was drinking the fruit infused water for the taste, unaware of all the great benefits of it as well. It's interesting that it can improve your mood, reduce muscle fatigue, and make you feel fuller so you don't snack as much. These benefits definitely make me want to get back into drinking fruit infused water.

  4. I agree with Katie, it is crucial to stay hydrated for not only athletes but everyone! I could drink water all day but it can get a little boring! I love to throw different fruits in my water to make it more interesting. My favorite that I have tried so far is lemon and strawberry! I also like the benefits infused water brings!

  6. I had never thought about how fruit infused water would improve your health. It totally makes sense but up until reading this post I mostly just thought of the fruit as a flavoring. As an athlete I sometimes struggle with how much food I am eating and when. On hard practice days I am very cautious about how much I eat for lunch because I know if I eat too much it will not have time to digest by practice time. Because of this I sometimes run into the problem of not having eaten enough. Drinking fruit infused water would help fill me up while also hydrating my body for the touch practice ahead! This is definitely something I will have to try!
